Children's Week is an annual festival to be celebrated from Friday 20 to Sunday 29 October with the themes "A Caring World Shares" in the International Year of Deserts and Desertification .
A diverse range of healthy lifestyle activities will be held throughout the state that focus attention of the wider community on children, in particular issues of health, child care, education, cultural, recreation, sport, social and emotional needs and the recognition of children's achievements. Children's Week is an extended celebration of United Nations Universal Children's Day on Wednesday 26 October and is observed in more than 150 countries in the world.
